For over 30 years, Ward has been actively involved in the NDIS and Aged Care sectors, gaining a deep understanding of the landscape through both professional roles and personal experience. Throughout his career, he has encountered a broad spectrum of providers—some delivering exceptional care, and others who, regrettably, have prioritised profit over people. Ward understands the need for financial sustainability in service delivery; however, he firmly believes this must never come at the cost of a person’s dignity, health, or well-being. His passion for ethical practice, shaped by personal experiences within his own family, drives his commitment to promoting integrity across the sector.
Ethical Tick was founded to bring greater transparency, trust, and integrity to the disability and aged care sectors. While many providers are doing exceptional work, there has also been a rise in reports of unethical practices where individuals are treated more as financial transactions than people. NDIS registration or ISO accreditation alone doesn’t always guarantee that a provider operates with empathy, respect, and genuine care.
Ethical Tick was created to change that—to provide a clear way for participants, families, and support coordinators to identify and connect with providers who consistently demonstrate ethical conduct and person-centred practices. Our accreditation is more than just a logo—it represents a commitment to doing things the right way.
Through our values-based assessment and growing provider community, Ethical Tick aims to lift the standard across the sector and support those who are truly making a positive impact. It’s also about creating meaningful connections between like-minded providers and giving them a platform to be seen and celebrated.
At its heart, Ethical Tick exists to protect participants, raise the bar for quality care, and shine a light on those who go above and beyond—because ethics should never be optional.

Ethical Tick offers a range of services designed to help NDIS providers stand out as ethical, high-quality organisations that participants and stakeholders can trust. Our core services include:
While NDIS registration confirms that a provider meets the minimum compliance standards, Ethical Tick goes a step further — it's about trust, transparency, and real-world values in action. Being NDIS registered doesn't always guarantee ethical behaviour, as we've seen with recent high-profile cases like Cocoon SDA. Ethical Tick highlights providers who are not only compliant but committed to putting participants first, operating with integrity, and creating safe, high-quality support environments. It’s a way to stand out from the crowd and show your community that you genuinely care.
