Why we Started

Our Founder

For over 30 years, Ward has been actively involved in the NDIS and Aged Care sectors, gaining a deep understanding of the landscape through both professional roles and personal experience. Throughout his career, he has encountered a broad spectrum of providers—some delivering exceptional care, and others who, regrettably, have prioritised profit over people. Ward understands the need for financial sustainability in service delivery; however, he firmly believes this must never come at the cost of a person’s dignity, health, or well-being. His passion for ethical practice, shaped by personal experiences within his own family, drives his commitment to promoting integrity across the sector.

for participants and stakeholders

Ethical Tick was founded to bring greater transparency, trust, and integrity to the disability and aged care sectors. While many providers are doing exceptional work, there has also been a rise in reports of unethical practices where individuals are treated more as financial transactions than people. NDIS registration or ISO accreditation alone doesn’t always guarantee that a provider operates with empathy, respect, and genuine care.

Ethical Tick was created to change that—to provide a clear way for participants, families, and support coordinators to identify and connect with providers who consistently demonstrate ethical conduct and person-centred practices. Our accreditation is more than just a logo—it represents a commitment to doing things the right way.

Through our values-based assessment and growing provider community, Ethical Tick aims to lift the standard across the sector and support those who are truly making a positive impact. It’s also about creating meaningful connections between like-minded providers and giving them a platform to be seen and celebrated.

At its heart, Ethical Tick exists to protect participants, raise the bar for quality care, and shine a light on those who go above and beyond—because ethics should never be optional.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at  if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Ethical Tick offers a range of services designed to help NDIS providers stand out as ethical, high-quality organisations that participants and stakeholders can trust. Our core services include:

  1. Ethical Accreditation
A thorough, values-based assessment that recognises NDIS providers for ethical practice, transparency, participant-centred care, and compliance beyond the minimum standards.

  2. Marketing & Visibility Support
Ethical Tick members receive promotional support, including social media exposure, website listings, and featured stories that help them build trust and grow their brand.

  3. Lead Generation & Referrals
We actively promote Ethical Tick providers to support coordinators, plan managers, and participants, helping connect like-minded services and grow ethical networks.

  4. Training & Industry Updates
Members stay informed with resources and insights into ethical practice, emerging sector issues, and access to opportunities such as grants and development programs.

  5. Community & Collaboration
Ethical Tick is building a strong community of NDIS providers who support each other, share best practices, and work together to lift sector standards.

  6. Brand Use & Recognition
Ethical Tick providers are licensed to use the Ethical Tick logo — a growing symbol of trust in the NDIS space — on their marketing materials, signage, and digital platforms.

While NDIS registration confirms that a provider meets the minimum compliance standards, Ethical Tick goes a step further — it's about trust, transparency, and real-world values in action. Being NDIS registered doesn't always guarantee ethical behaviour, as we've seen with recent high-profile cases like Cocoon SDA. Ethical Tick highlights providers who are not only compliant but committed to putting participants first, operating with integrity, and creating safe, high-quality support environments. It’s a way to stand out from the crowd and show your community that you genuinely care.

At Ethical Tick, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. If you believe a provider displaying the Ethical Tick badge is acting unethically, unsafely, or outside of expected standards:

  1. Report the Concern
You can confidentially submit your concerns via our online feedback or complaints form on the Ethical Tick website.

  2. Provide Supporting Details
The more detail you can provide (dates, examples, interactions), the more thoroughly we can investigate the issue.

  3. Independent Review
All concerns are taken seriously and reviewed independently from the provider in question. If necessary, we may request documentation or conduct interviews to assess the situation fairly.

  4. Action & Response
If a breach is found, Ethical Tick may:

    • Provide education or support to the provider to improve,

    • Suspend their Ethical Tick approval temporarily, or

    • Revoke their approval if standards are no longer being met.

  1. Feedback Loop
Where appropriate, you will be informed of the outcome or actions taken — while respecting privacy and confidentiality obligations.

🛡️ Ethical Tick exists to protect participants and promote high standards. If someone is wearing the badge but not upholding those values, we want to know — and we will act.
